Additional information

Current treatment of keloid disease is ill-defined and remains challenging. The paper demonstrates that photodynamic therapy can be used as a novel treatment for the site-targeted therapy of keloid disease. The paper’s findings add weight to the use of photodynamic therapy as an effective treatment for keloid disease and will encourage its use and stimulate further research in this area. Two co-authors are affiliated to the department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester and two to The Christie NHS Foundation Trust.
