Additional information

Superseding much previous work, this is a detailed analysis of the aerodynamic processes that give rise to noise inside motorcycle helmets, including numerical data from wind tunnel testing. The data analysis techniques developed for the study clarified the link between measured aerodynamic data and noise at a rider's ear. The work was conducted as part of a COST Action 'Accident Prevention Options with Motorcycle Helmets (PROHELM)' project and presented to industry partners, including motorcycle and helmet manufacturers, at the Milan Bike Show in 2008.
