Additional information

A new Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) database is introduced, containing environmental data required for Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) analyses of steel construction projects. This enables the use of LCA as a decision-making tool towards more sustainable solutions of lower environmental impacts. The novelty of the database is that it contains primary data obtained directly from structural steel manufacturers, thus overcoming the scarcity in which such data is currently available. Ultimately, the use of the data leads to the minimization of the environmental impact of steel construction projects and the optimization of their design in terms of sustainability.
