<04>This Special Issue paper on Applications and Energy Efficient Technologies provides practical techniques with analysed overhead with the aim to significantly reduce energy consumption in cellular networks by substantially delaying transmission of elastic Internet traffic. The research led to a collaboration with the University Miguel Hernandez of Elche (Spain) via a secondment of a PhD student at KCL, which resulted in joint research papers and possible future proposal for EC-funded research programs.
