Additional information

This is the world’s first wide-field multispectral and polarization-resolved rigid endoscope; it is used to distinguish scatterer sizes with applications in cancer detection. Funding was from an ERC grant to Dr Elson (242991 €1,616k), and a collaboration with Karl STORZ GmbH. A further exchange with Qinghua University in China was established. Two additional publications and international invited talks (including CLEO, San Jose) were delivered on this research area. Follow-on funding (£40k) and developmental support was obtained from Intuitive Surgical Inc. to employ a postdoc for further research.
