Tissue elasticity is of great interest in various clinical applications including cancer diagnosis. This paper presents the first ever elasticity image at centimetre depth using optical detection, which is shown to offer significantly higher sensitivity than the current method of ultrasound detection. An initial patent filing has been made through Imperial Innovations (US61/616,618).
