Additional information

The referee commented "This paper gives important measurements on nuclear graphite porosity using state-of-the-art (SANS) neutron scattering on international facilities. The treatment appears sound and gives new information on the connectivity of pores, their distribution and temperature behaviour. It should be the foundation for understanding operational reactors and materials test reactor data. It is important and timely." The results elucidate the role of Mrozowski Cracks in reactor graphite and are highly relevant to the effects of radiation damage on the operational life of AGR reactors . The paper was chosen as one of the ISIS scientific highlights for 2013. (http://www.isis.stfc.ac.uk/science/energy/isis-research-into-nuclear-graphite-could-keep-the-uks-lights-on14466.html)
