Additional information

This paper describes the first dynamic model of a full-scale CO2 capture plant integrated with a dynamic model of a coal-fired power plant. It was developed to allow investigation of the critical scale-up of a CO2 capture process from pilot plant to full-scale (e.g. compatible with a 500 MWe power plant). The model shows that at full-scale the CO2 capture plant has a much slower response than the power plant. This study provides vitally important insights into the design and operation of full-scale post-combustion CO2 capture. The paper played an important role in securing the Gas-FACTS grant (£2.46m EP/J020788/1).
