Additional information

Reported the world's best measurement of the 'atmospheric' neutrino mass splitting, through the observation of muon neutrino disappearance between the two MINOS detectors. Nichol was one of the three convenors in charge of the analysis group which produced this analysis and paper. As a convenor he was responsible for defining the scope and coordinating the analysis and was one of the primary authors of the initial paper draft. In addition to coordinating the analysis group, he directly supervised the UCL PostDoc who did the analysis.
