Additional information

The study provides the first evidence of a novel mechanism of mechanotransduction controlling shape-induced differentiation of epidermal stem cells. The study is highlighted in high impact journals by other experts (David, R. Nature Reviews Molecular Cell Biology 2010, v11; Iglesias-Bartolome, R; Cell Stem Cell, 2010, v7). The paper led to invitations to two international conferences (Bioengineering12. Oxford, 2012 and Stem Cell Engineering and Regenerative Medicine Symposium, Stockholm, 2012). The paper also resulted in collaboration with Prof. Arnoud Sonnenberg (NKI, Netherlands).
