Additional information

This paper is the first from a collaboration with the University of Colorado demonstrating a novel material design for tissue engineering applications. It highlights the importance of creating physiological environments for investigating cell mechanics and has put us in a world leading position for tendon tissue engineering. In light of the paper, I have been asked to speak at UK and overseas conferences and have initiated 3 new collaborations. The paper also provided the foundation for three successful grant applications, spanning colleagues across the UK and USA; an Arthritis Research UK studentship, a Leverhulme Visiting Professorship, and an NIH R21.
