Additional information

<13>This paper is important in that it develops the first mathematical model of Braitenberg vehicle 3a, a qualitative model of animal tropotaxis used since 1984 in robotics and artificial life. The model enables formal analysis of the trajectories of these vehicles (that imitate animal motion) and proof of theoretical results on their behaviour. Braitenberg vehicles are commonly used to teach robotics, and the content of this paper was taught in 2011 and 2012 in the Intelligent Autonomous Robotics module at the University of Edinburgh by Prof B. Webb: (http://www.inf.ed.ac.uk/teaching/courses/iar/handouts12/IAR_6_Dynamics_6up.pdf).
