Double-weighted statement

This book explores a particular social movement in order to illuminate fundamental territorial underpinnings of struggles over security and citizenship in the Information Age. It represents a distillation of ten years of research in widely scattered archives. A review in a dedicated symposium in Political Geography commends it for its “remarkable richness”, another prominent reviewer notes that it evidences “a great deal of archival work”. Carrying out the study also required the acquisition of a new language. The book was awarded the 2011 Julian Minghi Outstanding Research Award by the Political Geography Specialty Group of the Association of American Geographers.
