A comparison of wave-based discontinuous Galerkin, ultra-weak and least-square methods for wave problems
Significance of output:
Wave-based methods are the only computational approach that breaks through the limitation of conventional numerical schemes in terms of grid resolution (number of points per wavelength). These numerical techniques are very accurate and have been applied to a wide range of engineering applications (acoustics, electromagnetism, structural vibrations, water waves). This paper presents the first unified description of several wave-based methods that were developed independently over the last 15 years, and provides a solid foundation to optimise these methods. One of them is now available as a commercial software (Waveller) for acoustic modelling in COMSOL Multiphysics.
