Cooperative Performance and Diversity Gain of Wireless Relay Networks
Wireless relay networks will be essential for future mobile communications to support high data rate transmissions. In this paper, the distributed space-time block code in a synchronous relay network is considered. A theoretically necessary and sufficient condition is obtained for achieving full cooperative diversity. This work arose from the international project “Adaptive resource allocation for high data rate mobile communications” (no. 2009DFB10110; 3.45 million yuan, approx. £345k), awarded by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Chinese Government. The consortium consists of Southeast University, China, (Contact: xywang@seu.edu.cn), University of Delaware, USA (Contact:xxia@ee.udel.edu) and the University of Kent.
