Additional information
This work reports a first mode-locked fibre laser at mid-infrared range for potential applications in semiconductor dynamics monitoring and mid-IR super-continuum generation. This work has led to an invited talk presented at Laser Technology for Defence and Security IX, SPIE in the United States (2013.5). Subsequent work has resulted in two more papers published in peer-review journals. The mode-locked fibre laser in the mid-IR range has important applications in military, remote sensing and biology.
