Additional information

This work reports a new pulsed fibre laser in mid-infrared range for potential applications in medical, environmental and military. The work has provided the foundations for further collaboration under FP7 Marie Curie International Incoming Fellowship projects (MIDFIL: €200.4k, 2012-2014). This work has led to two invited talks presented at 5th EPS-QEOD EUROPHOTON CONFERENCE (2012.5) in Sweden and International high power fibre laser seminar (2012.4) in China. These new mid-IR lasers could be the powerful sources for high resolution gas detection, remote sensing, free-space communication, military and mid-IR supercontinuum generation.
