Additional information

The paper presents a significant body of original work pioneered at Aston in collaboration with an internationally leading research group (Macquarie, Australia). It has been heavily cited by all of the leading research groups in this field, stimulating further research in the field of femtosecond laser microfabrication of photonic structures. As a consequence one Leverhulme research grant and the Leverhulme visiting Professorship totalling to about £300k have been awarded. This, and related work, resulted in a series of invited talks at international conferences, e.g. BGPP-2010, SCT-2012, PULMM-2013.
