Adaptive congestion control for DSRC vehicle networks
Road traffic accidents are one of the world’s largest public health and injury prevention problems. DSRC has been widely regarded as a promising technology to address the problems. We proposed an adaptive congestion control scheme to ensure reliable and effective communication services for collaborative road safety applications. The work led to the award of EPSRC grant EP/1010157/2 (£120k) and further development on message rate control and power control for QoS guarantee (DOI:10.1155/2012/134238, DOI10.1109/LCN.2011.6115571 and DOI: 10.1109/ICCT.2011.6157942). Our work was used by other research groups due to the scheme's simplicity, robustness and effectiveness (including DOI:10.1109/VNC.2011.6117132, DOI:10.1016/j.cie.2011.12.007 and DOI:10.1002/9781118452189.ch12).
