Additional information

This paper builds on work by Qian and Zhou, prior to Qian taking up a post with Jiaotong Liverpool University. The work addresses the acknowledged impact of electric vehicle battery charging on electricity demand and proposes a methodology for lessening impact on infrastructure. The study outcomes should be considered during development and implementation of the future battery charging stations. A continuation of the work is investigating impact of small wind turbines in distribution networks. The objective is to combine these to develop a model giving Network Operators guidance on strategies to ensure effective operation of the developing modern, smart grid.
