Additional information

Stepped pneumatic conveying pipelines have the potential to double process efficiency of conveying systems, however, are not commonly used in the process industries due to uncertainty in implementation. This is the first publication to report on an investigation of specific powder flow behaviour in this application demonstrating that a different geometry may be preferred in multi-phase conveying applications than would be expected from experience of single phase flow behaviour. This is important in the selection of the optimal system geometry arrangement for flow assurance, in preventing pipeline blockages, etc.
