Additional information

Nobles and Schiff have collaborated in joint research and writing for over twenty years. They have worked together on the application of systems theory to legal issues since 1995, focusing first on criminal justice, and more recently, jurisprudence This piece is a continuation of that long term collaboration, which was stimulated by the desire to respond to criticism of the central thesis of their jointly written 2006 book, A Sociology of Jurisprudence by Professor Michael King. The idea of making such a response came from Nobles. On this basis the chapter can be attributed to him.
