Optimal production allocation and distribution supply chain networks
A mathematical programming framework for the design and operation of global supply chain networks in the process industry with focus on financial and tactical operational issues within a company while accounting for production balancing among sites. The proposed optimisation framework facilitates decision-making related to production allocation, site production capacity, purchase of raw materials and network configuration while considering financial aspects (e.g. exchange rates, duties) and supply chain costs. This work has resulted in an industrial project (Syngenta) that addressed capacity planning in agrochemical supply chains.
