Additional information

A rigorous numerical model is developed and validated against experimental data that enables mass transfer rates to be predicted in two-phase microfluidic systems operating under Taylor flow. Microfluidic systems have found wide applications in heat transfer equipment, in chemical analysis and even in production while operation under Taylor flow is common because it can enhance mixing and mass transfer. The paper is crucial for the development of microfluidic systems for mass transfer and reaction applications.
