Additional information

An experimental and modelling ultra scale-down approach to mimic flux and transmission performance during diafiltration operations was established. This is based on a novel rotating disc filter device requiring only 1.5 ml of feed material. The method uses simple dead-end operation to mimic more complex crossflow operations used at larger scales and so overcomes the difficulty of accurately controlling pressure at such small scale. The work, which contributes to the USD Technologies impact case study, has led to further collaboration with Pfizer (Dr Sa Ho, sa.v.ho@pfizer.com).
