Movement of airborne contaminants in a hospital isolation room
This work describes a study, using analogue laboratory experiments, of the movement of airborne contaminant in a hospital isolation room. The results were reported in a themed volume of the Royal Society J. Interfaces (Lead Editor: Eames, December 6, 2009; 6). Extension of this work was reported in 3 other papers (J. Hospital Infection vol 77, RSJ Interfaces Vol 6, New Approaches in Modeling Multiphase Flows and Dispersion in Turbulence 2012) and led to major collaboration with National University of Singapore. The was funded by the Department of Health (Dr Wilson, UCLH, 2008-2011) and supported a Senior Leverhulme Fellowship (2010-2011).
