Additional information

This paper proved the possibility of designing a Boiling Water Reactor core that can operate in a self-sustainable fuel cycle based on Thorium/reprocessed U233. Such fuel cycle and reactor design would effectively eliminate concerns over availability of nuclear fuel for hundreds of years. This research prompted a much larger scale project in the US and the results were presented in two invited talks at Argonne (Dr Temitope Taiwo, ID_in_audit_file@anl.gov) and Brookhaven National Laboratories (Dr Michael Todosow, ID_in_audit_file@bnl.gov).
