Additional information

Potential applications of the algorithm reported in this paper include (a) building on Google’s Pagerank algorithm to achieve even faster computation (Brin and Page, Computer Network & ISDN Systems, 1998); (b) short-term traffic/stock market prediction; (c) improving the performance of distributed Kalman filtering (a widely used algorithm in navigation). Computationally, it is far more efficient than other well-known algorithms reported in the literature. The first author, Yuan, has obtained a Research Fellowship at Darwin College, Cambridge, largely on the basis of the work reported in this paper.
