The research reported in this paper led to a grant application to the EPSRC (“Control Engineering Inspired Design Tools for Synthetic Biology”, reference EP/I03210X/1) to continue the work, which was funded. Dr Dalchau, the PhD student involved in the work who appears as a co-author on the paper, has now been hired by Microsoft Research, Cambridge to continue the development of the technology for its next generation of products.
