This, the first publication in the literature to deal with the psychosocial aspects of roadmapping, has provided a platform that ties academic research with industrial engagements. To date, it has informed two commercial strategy workshops: 1) a sector foresight project focusing on the marine industry for the UK Technology Strategy Board, June 2011 (www.ukmarinealliance.com/news/marine-industries-technology-roadmap; Tessa Darley, Knowledge Manager for the Transport KTN, ID_in_audit_file@transportktn.org), and 2) AkzoNobel, a global chemicals company, March 2011 (Dr Gareth Crapper, Research Director, AkzoNobel Decorative Paints, ID_in_audit_file@akzonobel.com).
