Additional information

This paper demonstrates for the first time that the opto-electronic properties of graphene can be tailored by controlled hydrogenation and predicted a new material graphane, a sp3 bonded, hydrogenated monolayer of carbon atoms. This started a new field of research (testimonial Dr Pellegrini, ID_in_audit_file@sns.it) and has resulted in several plenary keynote and invited talks (for example plenaries at Nanotexnology 2013, Thessaloniki, Greece and IEDM 2013); EU grants GENIUS (~EUR530k), CARERAMM (~EUR543k); RODIN (~EUR430k); ERC Synergy Hetero2d {~EUR5.3M). Spin-off Cambridge Graphene Platform. Reported in various media (BBC, news and views in Nature, etc.)
