Additional information

This paper demonstrates the highest reported piezoelectric value in lead-free bismuth titanates, was achieved, based on a doping strategy I developed, leading to collaboration with Prof Mike Reece, QMUL. Applications using this class of material as a transducer in flow control in exhaust gases at elevated temperatures led to EPSRC-PLUS funding for the PhD student on the project in collaboration with PCME Ltd, a Instrument manufacturing company in St Ives towards commercial development. This research has directly led to developing oxides and the experimental conditions for controlling morphologies for photocatalysis as an important spin-off, setting the framework for improved photocatalysts.
