Additional information

This research was the first time that the Fisher Bingham distribution was used in wireless communications. It was demonstrated that the model is valid and practically useful for generating data sets or producing channel models for rapid simulation of multi-channel environments. The research was supported by an EPSRC Industrial CASE studentship [Steepest Ascent Ltd, 2007-10] and was used for channel modelling verification by communications SME Steepest Ascent Ltd (acquired by MathWorks 2013) [Chief DSP Engineer, daniel.garcia@steepestascent.com], with Kyocera Wireless (San Diego) [radhakrishna.canchi@kyocera.com], as part of IEEE 802.20 standard investigation development (time-division multiplexing (TDD) mode).
