Additional information

<28>This paper describes a software package for performing causal inference on time series data. The software has been downloaded >4300 times and is in wide use internationally. A number of high-profile papers by other groups have based findings on it (e.g., J Neurosci, 30(46):15535-45, 2010). This work has led to a follow up study published in Current Opinion in Neurobiology (2013, 23:1-7), several new collaborations (e.g., a Visiting Professor position at the University of Amsterdam), and multiple invitations to present the work at summer schools and seminars. J. Neurosci. Methods is the leading international journal for new methods in neuroscience.
