<27>An interdisciplinary collaboration between a computer scientist, particle physicists and space scientists. The computer scientist (Beloff) worked on an advanced modelling algorithm used for testing the theory proposed by the co-authors, in which the non-linear mirror waves are composed of a series of peaks and troughs. This new approach helped to explain the existing contradiction between theory and observations, moving the forefront of research in the subject area. Geophysical Research Letters is a leading international journal in this area.
