Importance: Provided for the first time insight at what concentrations organic solar cells display optimum device performance. This is of great technological importance as it will enable materials design and screening. Proved to be broadly applicable as current work on other polymer:fullerene and small molecule blends by groups in Stanford, Bordeaux, Georgia Tech, Univ. Queensland, etc., is highlighting. Provided foundation for parts of a KAUST CRG grant and various invitations to present, e.g. at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), Georgia Tech, USA; and conferences such as the MRS, SPIE, etc. Adopted by numerous groups worldwide.
