Additional information

This is the first ever experimental investigation of stress-strain behaviour of concrete under true multiaxial compression at elevated temperature. The research was funded by a consortium of the UK Nuclear Sector (British Energy, BNFL, Magnox and The Health and Safety Executive). The ouput is used by BE/EDF engineers working on numerical simulations of the behaviour of prestressed concrete reactor vessels, under both accidental conditions and long term, operating conditions. Contacts: Michael Johnston, EDF-Energy (michael.johnston@edf-energy.com), Tony McNulty, HSE (Tony.McNulty@hse.gsi.gov.uk).
