This paper demonstrates a novel method to evaluate the stability of smart grids affected by problems introduced by the usage of communication networks. The paper resulted in another IEEE Trans. Power Systems paper (DOI : 10.1109/TPWRS.2013.2280216). The work was an international collaboration between Liverpool (Jiang, Wu) and Huazhong University of Science and Technology in China (Cheng, Wen). It was supported by a NSFC grant (50677025, Wen/Jiang), and has contributed to the award of another NSFC grant (51207063, Yao/Jiang).
