Droplet size control with methanol-repellent surface in a sampling device for continuous annular electrochromatography
This paper originates from a NMP-2007-206707 project in the frame of European Community’s Seven Framework Programme. An important industrial problem of control of the eluent droplet size down to the micrometer scale has been solved. The eluent droplet size defines the number of sampling compartments and therefore the separation efficiency of a continuous annular electrochromatograph (CAEC) device. A new sampling devise for a CAEC prototype has been designed and developed for separation of complex mixtures of high-value products and a wide range of both neutral and charged components.
