Double-weighted statement

The French Atlantic: Travels in Culture and History is the product of several years’ work which involved research visits to six of the seven sites whose cultural history is examined in the seven chapters (on Nantes, La Rochelle, Saint-Pierre et Miquelon, Quebec City, New Orleans and Cayenne), as well as extensive research in the Bibliothèque nationale in Paris on Franco-Uruguayan relations. In addition, its conceptual framework has been influential in shifting paradigms in American and Francophone Studies. It therefore fulfils the first four of the five criteria in paragraph 64 of the guidelines to be considered as a double-weighted output.
