This output reports on a methodological framework for evaluating an overhead line conductor's performance, which was a main contribution of the AMPeres/Supergen project (http://www.supergen-amperes.org/). This methodology advances current techniques and was used to evaluate the IET Innovation award-winning Composite Cross-Arms (www.aragotechnology.com). Further development of this work into a user-friendly tool was funded by knowledge transfer (~£60k) and is supported by UK Power Networks (contact details available) and National Grid (contact details available). The work also provides the basis for further consultation in uprating networks with UKPN and Mott MacDonald (contact details available).
