Additional information

This output is one of the main outputs of EPSRC's AMPeres/Supergen (http://www.supergen-amperes.org/) work and investigates overhead line conductor performance in relation to structure integrity, conductor properties, and environmental conditions. The paper emphasises the benefits of novel conductor technologies and the realistic case studies of the paper can provide direct guidance for overhead line engineers in the UK and other (EU) countries using similar system designs (such as the IET award-winning Composite Cross-Arms -www.aragotechnology.com). Its academic and commercial impact has been acknowledged in relation to smart grids in USA (ISSN online: 1943-5576).
