Additional information

Types for the New Century is a touring exhibition curated by Will Hill for the Worshipful Company of Stationers. The exhibition, which comprises 96 typefaces by designers from across Europe, the USA and South America, maps the development of typeface design as an independent design activity in the 21st century. It is supported by a fully illustrated 72 page catalogue including a 3,000 word critical essay by the curator. This essay reflects upon the current condition of type design as a medium, and develops concepts previously introduced in Old Forms, New Ideas.

The exhibition opened in London in May 2012 at the Stationers’ Hall and has since shown at University of the West of England, Bristol, Birmingham Institute of Art and Design, University of Northumbria and University of Derby. During 2013 it has been shoun at the Museum für Druck-kunst, Leipzig and the Bauhaus University, Weimar. Future exhibits in London and Dublin are currently under discussion, along with further prospects of exhibiting in the USA and China.
