Significance of output:

This paper documents novel forms of low-cost miniature screen-printed pH sensors that are suitable for field deployment in water quality sensing. The work was also reported at Eurosensors 2013 (Krakow) having been accepted for oral presentation at this very prestigious conference. The devices have very wide commercial and scientific applicability but have been specifically developed for use in water catchment areas, including the monitoring of agricultural run-off, under a program of work funded by the UK Environment Agency (simon.browning@environment-agency.gov.uk). The devices meet the demands of remote sensor networks, namely low-cost, low-power, miniature, robust and deployable without recalibration.
