This is part of a series of over 20 papers (in 2009-present) in leading international journals and conferences by Starink and coworkers focussing on the prediction of strength and grain size after severe plastic deformation processing (see www.southampton.ac.uk/engineering/about/staff/mjstar.page#publications). This is the first paper to provide a predictive model for grain refinement during severe plastic deformation.
