This paper summarised the experimental study on vibrational serviceability performance of timber floors constructed with metal-web in collaboration with the UK Metal Web Working Group comprising ITW Alpine, Gang Nail Systems, MiTek Industries and Wolf Systems, in particular on vibrational frequencies, modes and damping. This led to the revision of the current UK National Annex to Eurocode 5 on the vibrational serviceability criteria for timber floors, strengthened links with construction industry and boomed further consultant and research work. This will contribute to the development of next generation of Eurocode 5 on vibrational serviceability design of various types of timber floors.
