The application of solidification and stabilization technology for the treatment of harbour sediments
This work was carried out by the author and ESTP (Ecole Speciale des Travaux Public) in Paris. Laboratory facilities were provided by the “Glasgow University Research Partnership”. Funding was shared between GCU, ESTP and Geo-Products BV, Limburn, The Netherlands. The skills developed from the treatment techniques led to another series of new projects at GCU. One was “The harvesting of heat from water coming from the disused mine-workings in Glasgow”, partially funded by Scottish Power, and a KTP with SPT (Strathclyde Passenger Transport) on identifying, developing and embedding a geothermal power capability into SPT’s subway.
