Additional information

<19>The security scheme developed in this paper to protect scanned documents from forgery not only points out forgery but also enables legal or forensic experts to gain access to an original document despite it having been manipulated. This research led to a UK Patent Application for “An Encryption Method” invention #0819976.2. In addition, an International PCT application PCT/EP2009/007555 was filed claiming priority from the UK Patent. This work resulted in a Spinout company HidInImage Limited that has received over £300K in seed and funding from Proof-of-Principle, InvestNI Proof-of-Concept, and NISPO E-Synergy Ulster Innovation programmes.
