Additional information

This was a milestone in demonstrating how different layers of an OLED could be deposited by separate LIFT printing steps (sequential printing) to fabricate a functional device. Previously the electrode and any functional layers had been deposited together in a single LIFT step, whilst they had been deposited separately this time. It was also a further demonstration of the flexibility of the optimised LIFT process by depositing both single polymer and metal thin films across a 15 µm gap without bad morphological damage.
