Additional information

Critical Live Art is a revised edition of Johnson's guest-edited special issue of Contemporary Theatre Review ('Live Art in the UK', 22.1 [2012]). The latter involved 12 articles and documents compiled from open call and invited submissions. Routledge republished the issue as a book, to which Johnson contributed a new introduction (4,000 words), a chapter (10,000 words), and an additional interview (7,500 words; pre-published but not submitted to RAE2008). The collection creates a critical dialogue about the historical and cultural specificity of Live Art in the UK, and seeks to improve understandings of its historiographical, political, and aesthetic achievements.
